SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT
Schools receiving Title I, Part A funds are required to have a written School-Parent compact.
The compact will outline how parents, students, and staff will share the responsibility for improved academic achievement.
School Responsibilities
All schools receiving Title I Services will:
- Provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards.
- Hold annual Parent-Teacher Conferences during which the content of this document will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.
- Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress and information regarding school events.
- Provide parents with access to staff in accordance with District guidelines to discuss their children’s progress.
- Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their children’s classes and observe classroom activities in accordance with District guidelines.
- School staff will work respectfully and collaboratively with parents and students.
- Provide a safe and secure learning environment.
Parent Responsibilities
All parents will support their children’s learning in the following ways:
- Monitor and ensure school attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure completion of work.
- Take an active role in school activities and the education of their children.
- Promote positive use of time beyond the school day/year to expand or enhance their children’s learning experiences.
- Support and attend school programs.
- Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher and/or guidance counselor.
Student Responsibilities
- Do my class assignments and homework every day and ask for help when needed.
- Read at least 30 minutes every day outside of school time.
- Provide parents or guardians with all notices and information given to me by the school to take home.
- Come to school every day and on time.
- Respect myself and others.
- Listen to school staff and follow all school rules.
