Welcome to Mount Vernon Avenue Elementary School, Home of the Eagles!

Mount Vernon Avenue Elementary School’s mission is to create scholarly individuals by providing an exceptional educational environment that fosters critical thinking, citizenship, self-direction, and lifelong learning. Our vision and mission place a strong emphasis on a child’s whole development, which includes physical, social, and emotional growth in addition to academic education.

Mount. Vernon Avenue Elementary School is one of eight elementary schools in the Irvington township district. We serve approximately 600 scholars. For the 2024-2025 school year, we will focus on small group instruction, effective use of learning centers, and social-emotional learning. There are numerous opportunities available for our scholars to participate in academic and extracurricular activities that will assist them in becoming more knowledgeable, skillful, and confident scholars in our society.
At Mount Vernon Avenue Elementary School, we promote a nurturing environment for learning and growth. We take pride in our beautiful school and have high expectations for each scholar. Our scholars exemplify kindness, competency, and resilience. Our school motto is, “Mount Vernon: Where Scholars Learn to SOAR! Success, Ownership, Attitude, Respect Marshall,” which will guide us.

Our exceptional team of committed professionals establishes an all-encompassing setting that fosters pupils’ growth and success. We provide our scholars with meticulous attention, empathy, endurance, and esteem and offer them an exceptional educational setting to ensure their academic triumph. We are committed to cultivating a cooperative educational atmosphere. Collectively, we have the power to create a substantial impact on the lives of our scholars.

In closing, we look forward to working with all the outstanding scholars, parents, and stakeholders at Mount Vernon Avenue Elementary School.

Once again, we extend our warmest welcome to you and your family. Let’s continue to change the narrative as we collectively build our community one student at a time!
