MTV May 2021 Spirit Week
The Mount Vernon Student Council and Attendance Committee have created the great activities below for our May 2021 Spirit Week. Please encourage all students to participate.
Friday, May 21st – Crazy Hair Day
Monday, May 24th – Kahoot and “Dress Down to Uplift” Day – Teachers will play a Kahoot game with students. Cohort A students and teachers will participate in the “Dress Down to Uplift” fundraiser!
Tuesday, May 25th – Virtual Show and Tell Day (Students can showcase different items to the class. Those students who are home can show and tell their pet.)
Wednesday, May 26th – Virtual Field Trip Day (Ms. Karsen is working on selecting options for the different grade levels. Website links will be emailed to teachers.)
Thursday, May 27th – Cohort B students and teachers will participate in the “Dress Down to Uplift” fundraiser!
For the “Dress Down to Uplift” fundraiser, students will pay $2 and staff will pay $5 to wear jeans, sneakers, etc.
The funds will go to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. LDF efforts are to protect voting rights, reform the criminal justice system, achieve education equity, and ensure economic justice for all.
This initiative will help with this year’s Student Council mission of social justice.
