MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Irvington Early Childhood Advisory Council (IECAC) is to support high-quality preschool program implementation and transition efforts as children move from preschool through grade 3 via collaboration with the district, key stakeholders, community members, parents, and staff.

GOALS

  • Community Needs Assessment: Conduct annual community needs assessments to identify gaps in early childhood services and resources. This will ensure that the preschool program addresses the diverse needs of all children and families within Irvington. It will also guide program improvements and resource allocation.
  • Community Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with parents, community organizations, and local stakeholders by hosting regular forums and workshops to enhance awareness, involvement, and collaboration in the preschool program. This will strengthen community ties and ensure a shared vision for early childhood education.
  • Transition Support: Support the district’s transition plan to ensure a smooth progression for children from preschool through grade 3, focusing on early intervention, communication between preschool and elementary school staff, and providing resources for families to support their child’s development throughout these transitions.
