Our Culinary Arts Program immerses students in practical training encompassing food preparation, service, and managerial duties essential to the food service sector. Covering both culinary and baking/pastry techniques, students engage in daily hands-on practice in industry-standard facilities, in the coming years a student-run cafe will be implemented for 4th-year students. This experiential learning is complemented by classroom instruction, enriching theoretical understanding.

Participation in the Culinary Arts Program not only equips students with foundational skills but also serves as a robust pathway for admission to post-secondary culinary programs or direct entry into the industry.

Our Cosmetology program aligns with state requirements for cosmetology licensure, encompassing 1000 hours of instruction and skill development. Over three years, students prepare for the NJ Licensed Cosmetologist certification, which validates their competency in various aspects of the field.

The program incorporates hands-on learning opportunities, such as operating a salon open to external clientele. Engaging in clinical practice enables students to refine their skills and readiness for the certification examination, ensuring their competence and preparedness for the professional realm.

Our JROTC program at Irvington High School is proud to be recognized as an award-winning program. The mission of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps is to instill leadership, discipline, and teamwork in students while fostering a sense of patriotism and civic responsibility. Through a structured curriculum and extracurricular activities, students develop valuable life skills, including communication, time management, and critical thinking. Our Entrepreneurship Program, in partnership with Syracuse University, provides students with the tools and resources to turn their ideas into successful ventures. Through a curriculum developed by Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, students learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including business planning, marketing strategies, and financial management. Additionally, students benefit from access to Syracuse University’s extensive network of industry experts and entrepreneurial resources.
