Aetna and Delta Dental will continue to the health and dental insurance plans for the District. To learn more about these plans, click here.

Health Insurance Waiver (Opt-Out)

The health insurance plan waiver (Opt-Out) continues through 2020. The payment amounts are limited to 25% of premium savings or $5,000 per year, whichever amount is less. Annual enrollment in the flexible spending plans are required. If an employee had the health FSA in 2019, enrollment does not automatically continue.

What’s needed for medical and dental plan changes?

  • Completed Aetna health and/or Delta Dental enrollment form(s) must be submitted to HR
  • Supporting documentation is required to add dependents (birth certificate for children, marriage certificate for spouse, civil union certificate for civil union partners)
  • New Waiver/ Opt-Out of health insurance requires a completed Aetna health form and a copy of current health insurance ID card

What’s the deadline for all forms?

All enrollment forms, and supporting documents if necessary, must be received by the Department of Human Resources by the close of business on Friday, December 6, 2019.
