Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Augusta Preschool Academy. I hope this greeting finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Our entire staff is excited to support you and your child this school year. We believe in the school community working together to ensure the academic and social success of all students. The entire school community’s goal is to support our young learners in becoming socially, emotionally, physically, and academically successful.

As we enter this school year with our “new normal”, the health and safety of everyone in the Augusta Preschool community is of utmost importance. We have been working hard to prepare our buildings and classrooms to meet the standards of a safe and clean environment which will support the optimal learning environment for all of our young learners. Please make yourself very familiar with the Irvington Public School’s website (www.irvington.k2.nj.us). It provides a wealth of information at your fingertips. The 2021-2022 School Reopening Plan is available on the site. Augusta Preschool Academy has a dedicated webpage on the site for school specific information. Please visit our school’s webpage to review our school calendar and keep abreast of events that are taking place at Augusta Preschool Academy. Also, our Parent Handbook is available for review; this document will acquaint you with rules and procedures that, when adhered to, will contribute to your child’s academic and behavioral success. As we build a community one student at a time, communication is key

Augusta’s mission is to improve the social-emotional and academic achievement of our learners through a combination of critical thinking and life skills. Our goal is to lay the groundwork for a solid educational foundation by developing the child physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. We are proud of our dedicated teachers and support staff. All of our teachers are certified in early childhood education. We are an inclusive school, offering services that accommodate the individual needs of all learners. Within our program, we offer general education, bilingual education focusing on Spanish and French-Creole, inclusion education, and special education with a major concentration in Autism. We are very proud of our diverse community of scholars and staff.

This year, we will continue to pay attention to the social and emotional needs of our students, building strong relationships in this current environment. We will plan and work together to create an environment where your child can flourish. The early learning years lay the foundation for children’s educational success in school and in life. We are committed to building an ever-stronger village that will support the needs of each learner and challenge each student to learn and grow at his/her own optimal rate. Parent involvement is essential to the success of our program. We offer various parent-child activities, PTA membership and monthly virtual parent workshops.

Overall, educating our scholars is a TEAM effort. As we continue our academic journey, we want to thank all of our students, parents, staff and community members for their hard work and dedication. We welcome our students and families to our school community. At year’s end, we hope that we will all enjoy the rewards that will come as a result of our collective efforts to make Augusta Preschool Academy a school of academic excellence.

Best wishes for a terrific year at Augusta Preschool Academy!
