The Irvington Public Schools envision a community of learners dedicated to academic excellence through a combination of critical thinking and life skills which define the education of the whole child, wherein the major focus of the school system is to improve academic achievement for all students


IRVINGTON BOARD OF EDUCATION GOALS

The Board adopts district wide goals and performance measures that reflect that the highest priority is given to student achievement. The following reflect goals for 2011-2012:

1. Raising test scores by increasing the number of students whose test scores are in the proficient range so that it results into a higher percentage of students in the advanced proficient range.
   
   
2. Improving parental involvement in the district's schools.
   
   
3. Improving communication between staff and community.
   
   
4. Improving the school environment to ensure that schools are clean, safe and conducive to learning for all our students.
